Severe Storm Hits Washington Suburbs, Damages Homes and Injures Residents

On Wednesday evening, a severe storm with tornado warnings struck the suburbs of Washington, D.C., causing damage to homes and several injuries.
The National Weather Service office in Washington issued a tornado warning for Montgomery County in Maryland, labeling it as a “particularly dangerous situation.” Residents were advised to take cover as the storm approached.
Impact in Gaithersburg, Md.
Early reports suggested that a tornado may have touched down in the residential area of Gaithersburg, causing damage to at least three buildings and trapping people inside. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the removal of at least five occupants from one of the homes. Four of them sustained non-life threatening injuries, while one suffered "trauma," according to David Pazos, an assistant fire chief in Montgomery County.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of heeding weather warnings and taking necessary precautions during severe weather events.
