Shocking Assault: Former NY Gov. David Paterson and Stepsont Attacked in NYC

Former NY Gov. David Paterson and stepson Anthony Sliwa were brutally attacked by teens and city housing employees on the Upper East Side.

Last week, former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepson Anthony Sliwa faced a harrowing experience on the Upper East Side of New York City. The duo was reportedly attacked by a group of teenagers and two City Housing authority employees, leading to injuries for both Paterson and Sliwa.

The Unprovoked Attack

On a fateful evening, Paterson and Sliwa found themselves at the receiving end of a brutal assault while walking their dog in Manhattan. The incident unfolded around 8:30 PM and involved a confrontation initiated by a group of individuals. Paterson, who is 70 and legally blind, and his 20-year-old stepson were subjected to a verbal altercation that quickly escalated into a physical attack.

Physical Assault and Injuries

The attack left Paterson with injuries to his face and head, while Sliwa sustained injuries to his face as well. Both were promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment before being released later. The brazen nature of the attack raised serious concerns about safety in the city, with former Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa condemning the actions of the assailants.

In the aftermath of the incident, law enforcement swiftly identified and apprehended two teenagers in connection with the attack. A 12-year-old male was charged with second-degree gang assault, while a 13-year-old male faced charges of third-degree gang assault. Their identities were withheld due to their minor status. Furthermore, two adults, Travor Nurse and Diamond Minter, both reportedly employed by the NYC Housing Authority, were also arrested and charged with gang assault. The swift response from law enforcement aimed to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
