Shooting at Six Flags Over Georgia Leaves 15-Year-Old Critically Injured

On March 3, 2024, a shooting incident occurred near Six Flags Over Georgia, a popular amusement park in suburban Atlanta. The incident left a 15-year-old boy critically injured after police exchanged gunfire with a group of people, according to authorities.

Police Response

The Cobb County Police Department officers were assisting with crowd control near the amusement park's entrance following several fights among park attendees. The situation escalated when multiple people began shooting, hitting an unoccupied CCPD marked patrol car. Officers identified the source of the shots and pursued the individuals who fled into the woods. During the pursuit, one CCPD officer fired his weapon, injuring the 15-year-old.

Victim's Condition

The injured teenager was promptly transported to Grady Hospital and was determined to be in critical condition. No officers sustained injuries during the incident, and a handgun was recovered near the 15-year-old.
