Law enforcement authorities in eastern Tennessee are conducting a widespread search for a suspect linked to a shooting that resulted in the death of one sheriff's deputy and the injury of another.
Warrants issued for Kenneth Dehart
The Blount County Sheriff's Office has issued warrants for 42-year-old Kenneth Dehart on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Tragic incident during traffic stop
The incident occurred during a traffic stop on Thursday evening, leading to the tragic killing of Deputy Greg McCowan. Another officer sustained a gunshot wound to the leg but managed to return fire. She is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

Sheriff James Lee Berrong expressed deep sorrow and determination to bring Dehart to justice during a news conference, where he also revealed the issuance of a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's apprehension.
