Texas Hit by Another Round of Powerful Storms, Causing Widespread Damage and Power Outages

Texas was hit by yet another round of severe storms, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and large hail. The powerful storms resulted in hundreds of thousands of utility customers losing power, prompting ground stops at both Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport.

Shortly after the region was attempting to recover from deadly tornadoes over the weekend, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for areas east of Dallas. The warning was set to expire at 8:15 a.m. local time, prompting sirens to ring out early on Tuesday morning. A message from the National Weather Service urged residents to "take cover now" as the storms brought damaging winds with gusts reaching as high as 70 miles per hour, along with hail the size of golf balls.
