Texas Man Charged for Threatening to 'Open Fire' on ICE Agents in Disturbing Online Posts

A Texas man was charged for threatening to attack ICE agents online, posting violent messages and disparaging remarks about Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

A Texas man has been charged in federal court after threatening to "open fire" on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in his neighborhood. The suspect, identified as Robert Wilson King, a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody in McKinney, Texas, following disturbing online threats made on March 29, as reported by Homeland Security Investigations.

Charges and Court Appearance

King appeared in federal court on Monday, where he faced charges for transmitting interstate threats. A judge ordered him to be held pending a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

Online Threats and Disparaging Remarks

Authorities revealed that the 35-year-old King posted a series of threats on Facebook, targeting ICE agents and making derogatory comments about Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. In his first post, King shared a PBS NewsHour article and expressed a desire for Noem to meet a "horrible and agonizing demise," comparing her to a "Nazi scum" and labeling America as a "Nazi fascist state."

In a subsequent post, King made direct threats towards immigration agents, stating, "If I see ICE agents in my neighborhood, I am opening fire. It’s time to stop being p****** and put the second amendment to work. ICE are not real cops, they are a secret police force with no real legal authority. Kill them." He further escalated his threats by asserting, "Just wanna double down on what I said the other day: if ICE comes to your neighborhood, f****** shoot them and kill them. No mercy for the Gestapo," according to federal prosecutors.

Government's Response

Kristi Noem previously issued a warning following a similar threat made on TikTok, emphasizing the seriousness of such threats. She stated, "If you threaten or attempt to harm a law enforcement officer, we will find you and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law," in a post on X on March 30.

This case serves as a reminder of the legal consequences and the government's commitment to protecting law enforcement officers from threats and violence. The legal proceedings against Robert Wilson King will continue as the authorities work to ensure accountability for his actions.
