The McLennan County grand jury indicted him on two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of first-degree sexual assault. The arrest took place in July in Ave Maria, Florida, where he was found in possession of child pornography. Although he was charged with this crime, it was not included in the indictment. The investigation began months prior, based on credible information of a 2012 sexual assault claim.
Multiple Victims Come Forward
During the course of the investigation,police spoke with at least eight women who reported similar experiences of being groped, sexually assaulted, and financially abused by Father Odiong. This pattern of abuse led to a broader understanding of the extent of the priest's alleged misconduct.
