Texas Troopers Arrest 2 Migrant Smugglers After Wild High-Speed Vehicle Pursuit
Two migrants led Texas troopers on a high-speed chase before being arrested for human smuggling in Kinney County. They reached speeds of 100 mph and were identified as Venezuelan nationals living in Texas illegally.

This week, two migrants led Texas Department of Safety troopers on a high-speed chase in Kinney County, Texas, before being apprehended for human smuggling. The pursuit reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, with an intense dashcam video capturing the unfolding events.
Fiery Conclusion
During the pursuit, the suspects' vehicle caught fire, forcing them to pull over to the side of the road. At this point, two backseat passengers, identified as illegal immigrants, fled from the vehicle while the driver and front-seat passenger remained inside.
Law enforcement officers, in both Spanish and English, can be heard commanding the suspects to exit the vehicle and surrender.
Identification of Suspects
The driver and passenger were later apprehended and identified as Eduardo Jose Flores and Luis Alejandro Basabe, both Venezuelan nationals living in Austin illegally, according to a release from the Texas DPS.
Charges and Border Situation
Both individuals are facing charges related to human smuggling and evading arrest. These arrests come amidst a surge in migrant crossings at the southern border, exemplified by a recent incident in El Paso where approximately 100 illegal immigrants overpowered Texas National Guard members and attempted to breach a border wall.
