The bus, en route from Tepic in the state of Nayarit to Ciudad Juarez in northern Mexico, met with a devastating fate when it collided with a trailer that had detached from a truck transporting corn. The collision, which transpired at midnight on Friday, led to the bus tipping over on its right side, causing extensive damage and loss of life.

Juan Manríquez Moreno, the National Guard coordinator in Zacatecas, and Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, the secretary general of the government in Zacatecas, expressed their condolences and solidarity with the affected families. The authorities have also assured the public that they are working diligently to secure the area and provide necessary assistance to those affected.

While the injured individuals are receiving treatment at a hospital in Zacatecas, the authorities have committed to releasing the names of the injured soon to facilitate their identification by concerned families.
