Tragedy struck a Florida family when a 17-year-old was found shot and killed in his Winter Park home. The victim's mother allowed a friend to temporarily stay with them, only for the friend to allegedly turn on her son. The suspect, 19-year-old Alan Morris, had been residing with the family before the fatal shooting occurred. The grieving mother shared her anguish, stating that she had trusted the friend, even allowing him to spend Thanksgiving with them and helping him search for a job. Morris was arrested on January 12 and faces charges of first-degree premeditated murder, along with unrelated charges of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor. Another individual, 20-year-old Isaiah Crisp, has also been arrested in connection with the murder, although specifics of his involvement have not been disclosed. The devastated mother described her son as selfless and kind-hearted, and expressed the irreplaceable void left by his tragic death.
