
Tragic School Shooting in Nashville Leaves One Dead, Two Injured; Shooter Turns Gun on Himself
A 17-year-old shot a student and injured another in a Nashville high school, before taking his own life; motive unknown.

In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a 17-year-old male student opened fire with a pistol in the cafeteria of Antioch High School, located approximately 20 miles southeast of downtown Nashville.
The Attack
During the attack which occurred shortly after 11 a.m., the assailant fatally shot a female student and injured another student before taking his own life, as reported by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department.
The Victims
According to Don Aaron, a spokesman for the police department, the injured student sustained a grazed arm wound and was transported to 99 Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Additionally, a male student was treated for a facial injury, although it was not attributed to gunfire.
The Response
The gunman unleashed multiple gunshots in the school’s cafeteria. The first emergency call was received two minutes after the initial gunfire, according to Mr. Aaron. However, further details regarding the shooter and the victims remain undisclosed. Officials have stated that the motive behing the shooting is currently unknown.
