Ukraine Strikes Russian Sub and Military Assets, Continues Offensives in War with Russia
Ukraine's military claims to have destroyed a Russian submarine and air defense systems in Crimea, as part of ongoing attacks.

Ukraine's Claim of Destroying Russian Submarine in Crimea
Alleged Incident in Sevastopol
Ukraine recently made a bold assertion that it had launched an attack resulting in the destruction of a Russian submarine in the occupied Crimean peninsula. According to reports, the purported strike targeted the Rostov-on-Don, a kilo-class attack submarine that was said to have been anchored at a port in Sevastopol.
Although the Russian defence ministry has not provided any official statements regarding this claim, Ukraine's general staff has been resolute in its declaration of the submarine's demise as a consequence of the alleged missile attack.
Struck in Missile Attack: Ukraine's Assertion
Ukraine's general staff contends that the Rostov-on-Don, which was commissioned in 2014 and reportedly had the capability to launch Kalibr cruise missiles, was the target of a successful missile strike during its time at the Sevastopol port. The purported attack is said to have led to the sinking of the submarine, marking a significant blow to Russia's naval assets in the region.
Further Asserted Damage
In addition to the reported destruction of the Russian submarine, Ukrainian officials also claimed that four S-400 air defence systems, which were safeguarding the peninsula, were destroyed in the attack. Furthermore, they emphasized that the targeted location is situated in the Black Sea, where Russian naval forces have faced previous assaults in recent periods.
