US Erupts in Anti-Trump Protests Across Major Cities
Anti-Trump protests erupted in major US cities, opposing his policies on immigration, labor, gender, and more.

Demonstrations erupted across major US cities on Wednesday, as protesters voiced their opposition to President Donald Trump's agenda and Project 25. The protests, organized under the hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501, saw thousands taking to the streets in a show of defiance against what critics describe as a harsh and aggressive approach to governing.
A Nationwide Outpouring of Dissent
From Austin, Texas to Los Angeles, California, protesters gathered outside government buildings, businesses, and along major roadways to express their discontent. The demonstrations were fueled by a range of issues, including Trump's stance on immigration, tariffs, gender, labor rights, and his push for increased deportations of undocumented immigrants.
Key Protest Demands
Protesters held signs with messages such as "Fight, our lives depend on it," "Impeach the b- - - -," and "Texas deserves better," while chanting slogans like "Si Se Puede" (Yes We Can). Some also voiced their opposition to the influence of billionaire Elon Musk on the presidency. In San Antonio, Texas, students from the city's independent school district walked out in protest of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and mass deportations, holding signs that read "This country was made by immigrants" and "The People United Will Defend Immigrant Families."
Targeting Trump's Policies
In Phoenix, Arizona, protests focused on Trump's stance on gender issues, as well as his tariffs on Canada and Mexico. Demonstrators in Sacramento, California, appeared in droves at the state capitol, shouting rhetoric against both Trump and Musk. At the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., another group protested the Trump administration's push to get federal workers back in the office, chanting "Workers United, We’ll Never Be Divided."
Labor Dispute Over Federal Buyouts
The Trump administration recently gave nearly 2 million federal employees the option of taking a buyout and getting paid through September 30th. However, multiple labor unions have filed a lawsuit against the administration regarding these buyouts, arguing that the funds to continue paying employees who accept the offer have not been appropriated by Congress for this purpose. The deadline to take the buyout deal expires on February 6th.
A Growing Movement of Resistance
The nationwide protests reflect a growing movement of resistance against Trump's policies and agenda. With organizers calling for 50 protests in 50 states on one day, it appears that the pushback against the president is gaining momentum across the country. The widespread demonstrations serve as a reminder of the power of collective action and the ongoing struggle over the direction of American politics.
