Virginia Woman Arrested for Brandishing Medieval Sword
A Virginia woman, identified as 35-year-old Alexandra C. Hopkins, was arrested after an alarming incident involving the brandishing of a medieval sword at both a police officer and another individual. The Leesburg Police Department reported that officers responded to a warrant call on February 8th at the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road. Upon encountering Hopkins, she reportedly swung the sword, which measured over 1.5 feet in length, at one of the officers before fleeing into a nearby residence.
Arrest and Charges
Hopkins was subsequently apprehended without further incident, and a neighbor also claimed that she had swung the sword at them. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in relation to these deeply concerning events.
As a consequence of her actions, Hopkins has been charged with one count of assault on law enforcement, one count of assault, and two counts of brandishing a weapon. In addition, she has two unrelated warrants from another agency. Currently, she is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
