
Wagoner County Deputies Rescue Injured Dog Stuck on Train Tracks in Oklahoma

Wagoner County Deputy J. Hutton responded to a distress call at the area of East 750 Road and South 288 Road, where an injured animal, later identified as a large dog, was found lying on the train tracks after being hit by a train.
Difficult Rescue Operation
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Hutton, accompanied by Wagoner Police Department Captain B. Harding, realized the challenge they faced in accessing the injured animal stuck between the railroad tracks. Due to the difficult terrain, they had to call for backup from the Sheriff’s Office to dispatch a side by side vehicle, an all-terrain vehicle capable of reaching areas inaccessible by other vehicles.
Successful Rescue Effort
Lt. J. Halfacre arrived with the side by side vehicle, allowing Deputy Hutton and Lt. Halfacre to reach the injured dog and safely remove it from the tracks. The heartwarming footage captured one of the officers comforting the dog before transporting it in the ATV to the roadway, where a family member took the dog to a local veterinarian for urgent treatment.

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office expressed their relief at successfully rescuing the injured canine and conveyed their optimism for its full recovery. The Sheriff's Office also extended gratitude to the Wagoner Police Department for their valuable assistance in the rescue operation.
