White House Response
During the press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed the coverage, expressing confusion and gratitude for Fox’s support of President Biden’s recognition of the importance of Trans Day of Visibility. She also highlighted a tweet from Fox TV in 2021 that showed solidarity with the transgender community.
Jean-Pierre emphasized that President Biden would not exploit his faith for political gain, referring to Donald Trump's recent promotion of $60 Bibles and the criticism the current administration faced for recognizing the Trans Day of Visibility.
Clarification on the Date
It was clarified that the Trans Day Of Visibility is observed annually on March 31, while Easter falls on a different Sunday each year. President Biden had acknowledged both the Trans Day of Visibility and Easter on Sunday, as well as César E. Chávez Day.
