Wildfire Smoke from Canada Triggers Air Quality Alert in Northern Central US
Wildfire smoke from Canada caused air quality alerts in Minnesota and Wisconsin on Monday morning, due to a northern US smoky sky.
If you happen to be in the northern part of the Central United States and notice smoky skies, it is due to the recent air quality alert issued in the region. The alert was a result of wildfire smoke originating from Canada affecting Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin.
Minnesota's Alert
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issued an air quality alert covering the entire state on Sunday. The alert was slated to be in effect until noon Eastern time on Monday.
Wisconsin's Alert
Similarly, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources released an air quality alert for northwestern Wisconsin. This alert was scheduled to remain in effect until 10 a.m. on Monday.
