1 Dead, 6 Injured in Orlando Shooting: Police Investigate Isolated Incident

On February 28, 2024, a shooting incident in Orlando, Florida, left one person dead and six others injured. The Orlando Police Department responded to a home off Iron Wedge Drive and South Lake Orlando in reference to shots fired at 11 p.m. Seven people were located with gunshot wounds, and sadly, one of the victims, 21-year-old James Jerry Dawn William III, was pronounced dead at the scene. The confrontation began earlier in the day at around 3 p.m. due to a vehicle that had not been returned on the agreed date.

Police Response and Investigation

Earlier in the afternoon, police had been called for an alleged assault, but the suspect was not located. Instead, a trespass warning was issued to one of the individuals involved. Detectives believe that one of the parties involved in the earlier dispute was also involved in the shooting incident later in the evening. The Orlando Police Department is still in the process of identifying the suspects and the roles of those injured. They have stated that there was an exchange of gunfire between two groups and that they are treating the incident as isolated and targeted.
