Biden Raises Millions in Texas, Takes Aim at Ted Cruz in Fundraising Tour
President Biden assailed Senator Ted Cruz in Texas, urging support for Democratic nominee Colin Allred, while raising millions for his re-election campaign.

President Joe Biden delivered a strong message to Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz during his visit to the state as part of a fundraising tour. The tour has brought in millions of dollars for Biden's re-election campaign. Biden, speaking at a fundraiser at the Dallas home of lawyer Russell Budd, called on donors to support U.S. Representative Colin Allred, the Democratic nominee for the Senate seat held by Cruz.
Biden's Call for Support
During the fundraiser, Biden emphasized the importance of this election, stating, "The stakes couldn’t be higher across the board. And with your help, we’re going to win up and down the ticket, and that includes here in Texas." Biden also urged Texas voters to elect Colin as their next senator, aiming a jibe at Ted Cruz by saying, "so Ted Cruz joins another loser, Donald Trump."
Fundraising Success
The event, the first of two fundraisers for Biden in Texas on Thursday evening, raised an impressive $2.5 million, adding to the substantial amount collected by Biden on a Western swing this week. In February, Biden's campaign raised more than $53 million and reported it has $155 million cash on hand, highlighting the strong financial position of Biden's campaign.
Comparison with Trump's Campaign
In comparison, Trump's campaign reported raising $10.9 million in February, signifying a significant difference between the fundraising efforts of the two campaigns.
Cruz's Criticism and Tight Race
Cruz, a frequent Biden critic, particularly on Biden's handling of migration along the Texas border with Mexico, has been in a tight race with Allred. Polls indicate a close contest between Cruz and Allred, a former professional football player and House Representative.
