Ex-wrestler tackles man causing disturbance at Subway, lauded for quick action

Gabriel Pitzulo, a former high school wrestler and football player, intervened during his lunch break after witnessing a man verbally and physically abusing a Subway employee at the E. Hanna Ave location in Indianapolis. Pitzulo recounted how he saw the man throwing items at the employee and even spitting on her. Appalled by the situation, Pitzulo immediately sprang into action.

Pitzulo, relying on his experience from years of combat sports, skillfully subdued the man without causing excessive harm. The man causing the disturbance, later identified as Daniel Saunders, 31, was subsequently charged with battery injury, battery resulting in bodily injury, and disorderly conduct-fighting/tumultuous conduct, according to police records. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, as indicated by the same records.
