The incident took place in the Carver Langston neighborhood in Northeast D.C., specifically on the 1100 block of 21st Street, NE, shortly after 6 p.m. ET. According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith, the suspects allegedly exited a vehicle and indiscriminately opened fire into the crowd outside, leading to the fatal consequences.
Tragically, one man lost his life in the shooting, while two men, one woman, a 9-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were swiftly transported to area hospitals for medical attention.
The authorities are actively seeking a light blue Toyota sedan, which is believed to have been occupied by two shooters at the time of the incident. Efforts to locate the vehicle and its occupants are underway as part of the ongoing investigation.
