Jessica Alba Steps Down as Chief Creative Officer at Honest Company, Focuses on New Endeavors
Jessica Alba, known for her roles in "Dark Angel" and "Sin City," steps down as chief creative officer at Honest Company.
After rising to fame in the James Cameron television series “Dark Angel” and starring in films such as “Sin City” and the “Fantastic Four,” Jessica Alba has announced that she will be stepping down as the chief creative officer at Honest Company, a personal care company she founded in 2012. However, Alba will continue to hold a seat on the company board, while focusing on "new endeavors."
Company's Financial Performance and Alba's Statement
Honest Company went public in May 2021, and its shares experienced an impressive 44% surge during its stock market debut. Although sales at Honest Co. have been steadily increasing, the company has been facing challenges in turning a profit. Fortunately, the company recently achieved its first profitable quarter since mid-2021, signaling a positive turn in its financial performance.
In a prepared statement, Jessica Alba expressed her dedication to Honest Company, saying, "Honest has been a true labor of love for me - one that showed me what’s possible when you infuse purpose into business."
Early Career and Company's Stock Performance
Before her involvement with Honest, Jessica Alba had starring roles in Nickelodeon's series “The Secret World of Alex Mack” and the revival of the 1960s television series “Flipper.” Despite her departure, shares of Honest Co., which is based in Los Angeles, experienced a slight decline before the opening bell on Wednesday.
