Slovakia's prime minister, Robert Fico, is showing signs of improving health after undergoing a second surgery for the wounds sustained in an assassination attempt. The country's deputy minister, Robert Kalinak, expressed optimism about Mr. Fico's condition, describing it as a result of "several miracles." Deputy minister Kalinak informed reporters that Mr. Fico is conscious, despite the serious nature of his injuries. This positive development was shared in front of the F.D. Roosevelt University Hospital in Banska Bystrica, where Mr. Fico was admitted following the attack.
Simultaneously, in a different area of the country, the 71-year-old suspect, identified as Juraj C., appeared before a judge. The judge ruled for the suspect to remain in custody until the trial, following the assassination attempt on Mr. Fico. The investigation on the assassination attempt continues as Mr. Fico's recovery progresses.
