United States first in the world! Here's how U.S. athletes fared this August 11

After an arduous journey, American athletes have shown why they are among the best in the world and these Paris 2024 Olympic Games have become the perfect stage to prove it. After fifteen days of sporting activities, each of the Americans who participated in the Olympic categories left their hearts to become one of the best in the world. 

This Sunday, August 11 was no exception, as the last categories of the 2024 Olympic Games competed during the early morning hours, where more than one managed to reach the podium and position the United States as the number one in the Olympic medal standings, beating China, which was left with 91 medals. The United States finished Paris 2024 with 126 new medals, 40 gold, 44 silver and 42 bronze.

Bronze medal in men's water polo

After an extremely exciting match against Hungary, the U.S. men's water polo team earned a spot on the podium with a score of 11-8, taking home the bronze medal.

Silver medal in women's volleyball

Despite their best efforts, the girls volleyball team failed to beat the Italian team, but that did not mean defeat, as they took home the silver medal in the category.

Gold for Jennifer Valente in cycling

After a hard day, Jennifer Valente left everything on the cycling track and showed why she is the best in the world, as she won the gold medal in track cycling.

Gold medal for the women's basketball team

Like its male counterpart, the U.S. women's basketball team left everything on the court during its final game against France, where the competition was so close that only one point made the difference between gold and silver. The U.S. managed to win with a score of 67-66 in this final game.
