Aaron Rodgers Anticipated to Participate Fully in New York Jets' OTAs After Injury

Aaron Rodgers' injury won't limit his involvement in New York Jets' OTAs, with a new bond forming between him and rookie Malachi Corley.

Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, suffered a torn Achilles during Week 1 of the 2023 season, just four snaps into the game against the Buffalo Bills. The injury forced him to cut short his regular-season debut with the team. However, the Jets are optimistic about his recovery, expecting him to be a full participant in their first organized team activities (OTAs) workout on May 20, eight months and nine days after the injury.

On this matter, Jets head coach Robert Saleh expressed his positive outlook, stating, "He is here. He is working. The guy can still sling it. Obviously, he is still working through his rehab, but no issues on the trajectory which he is going."

Saleh also mentioned, "Once Phase 3 hits [OTAs], we're not anticipating any restrictions from what we can and can't do with him."

Getting to Know Teammates

As Rodgers prepares for the upcoming season, he will be focusing on building rapport with his new teammates, particularly with Jets rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley.

Malachi Corley, the Jets' third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has quickly formed a bond with Rodgers. Despite being a rookie, Corley has been in awe of Rodgers' achievements and has been seeking guidance from the veteran quarterback. Corley expressed, "I'm just like a little kid talking to him all the time, texting him and trying to see what he's done to remain consistent in the league."
