Miami-Dade Fire Rescue swiftly responded to the scene, located near Coopertown The Original Airboat Tour in the Everglades. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the abrupt maneuver resulted in nine individuals and the operator falling into the water.
Upon the arrival of MDFR, all individuals had successfully emerged from the water, with only one person requiring on-site medical treatment for their injuries.
Operational Violation
Subsequently, the airboat's operator was apprehended by the FWC due to lacking the necessary documentation for boat operation. The employer, Coopertown, has not yet provided a response to inquiries made by USA TODAY regarding this matter.

Accounts from passengers revealed that the operator was attempting to approach a nearby alligator, leading to the airboat capsizing. Witness Jose Maldonado shared his initial panic and fear for his family's safety during the distressing event.
