Florida Woman Admits to Shoplifting from Walmart While Playing '21' Game, Faces Multiple Charges

A Florida woman was apprehended by the authorities as she confessed to engaging in a shoplifting spree at a Walmart store while also being in possession of a variety of illicit drugs. The incident took place in Palm Coast, Florida on Monday, March 25, as captured on body camera footage released by the Flager County Sheriff's Office.

During the encounter with law enforcement, 30-year-old Amber McCann gleefully revealed that she had participated in a game called "21". This game involves seizing numerous items from a retail store and exiting without making any payments, all while attempting to evade detection.

Moments later, when confronted by an officer, McCann boasted, "It was a game I was playing. It's really, really fun!" However, the officer promptly corrected her, emphasizing that her actions constituted theft and not a mere game. Unfazed, McCann retorted, "Okay, going to jail is fun."

Admission of Guilt

Following her arrest, McCann made further revelations to the authorities. She admitted that the vehicle she used to transport the stolen merchandise was not random, but actually belonged to her boyfriend. Moreover, she disclosed that the car contained not only the stolen items but also illicit substances.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, the deputies uncovered bags of marijuana and methamphetamine, along with a digital scale, hashish, a glass pipe with burnt residue, and empty bags. Additionally, inside a locked safe within the car, several 1-ounce silver bars and rounds, copper bars, and a 1-gram platinum bar were found.

Legal Ramifications

McCann now faces a litany of charges, including grand theft and various drug-related offenses such as marijuana possession, hashish possession, alprazolam possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking in methamphetamine. As a result, she is being held in the Flagler County Jail on a bond amounting to $34,000.
