Georgia Couple Arrested for Child Neglect After Passing Out Drunk on Florida Beach
Georgia couple arrested for child neglect after passing out drunk on Daytona Beach, leaving kids unsupervised at Florida resort.

On March 16, a vacationing couple from Georgia found themselves in a dire situation at Daytona Beach, Florida, after consuming excessive amounts of alcohol. This incident led to their arrest, causing concern for the safety of their two children, aged 5 and 7.
Drunken parents
The alarm was raised when a 911 call reported that two adults had become unconscious due to heavy drinking, and their young children were nowhere to be found. When the Volusia County deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered the couple passed out amidst empty alcohol containers and children’s toys.
Unresponsive State
Efforts to awaken the man were unsuccessful, and even when deputies began to shout, the couple remained unresponsive. When questioned about the whereabouts of the children, the man was unable to provide a coherent response, only gesturing towards the ocean.
Child Neglect
The couple, both 27 years old, faced charges of child neglect as their unattended children were found swimming without supervision at the Nautilus Inn pool. The man, not the biological father of the children, also faced additional charges related to alcohol possession on a Volusia County beach and attempting to escape from the authorities.
Rescue and Legal Action
The children were safely taken into the care of a family resource center until a relative arrived from Georgia to take them home. Meanwhile, the couple was arrested, with the man requiring medical attention after attempting to flee from deputies.
