Green Bay Packers Sign Former Eagles First-Round Pick Andre Dillard to Third Team
The Green Bay Packers signed Andre Dillard, a former first-round pick struggling as a left tackle, after being released by the Tennessee Titans.

Today, the Green Bay Packers announced the signing of Andre Dillard, a former first-round pick, to a new contract. This marks Dillard's third team in three years and brings a new dynamic to the team.
Dillard's Career Journey
Back in 2019, Andre Dillard was the first-round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent his first four years with the team before moving on to the Tennessee Titans with a three-year deal worth up to $29 million. However, Tennessee released Dillard from his contract with two years remaining, following a season where he struggled defensively, allowing 13 sacks and 39 pressures in 308 pass-blocking snaps, resulting in a 12.7% pressure rate.
Struggles on the Field
Throughout his NFL career, Dillard has faced challenges at left tackle. His rookie season in 2019 saw him allow 25 pressures in 170 pass-blocking snaps, leading to a 14.7% pressure rate. Dillard's performance was impacted by confidence issues, which persisted into his second year. Additionally, a biceps injury caused him to miss his second season, ultimately resulting in him losing the left tackle position to Jordan Mailata.
Improvements and New Role
Despite these setbacks, Dillard showed improvement, allowing only one sack and 18 pressures in 237 pass-blocking snaps, resulting in a reduced 7.6% pressure rate. However, he only managed five starts in a reserve role. With the Packers, Dillard is anticipated to back up Rasheed Walker, as he is solely capable of playing on the left side, while Walker and Zach Tom are expected to be the main starting tackles.
