A Dolly Parton’s theme park, Dollywood, in eastern Tennessee, faced severe flooding on Sunday due to heavy showers and thunderstorms. At least one person was injured, and a flash flood warning was issued for the region, including the town of Pigeon Forge, where Dollywood is located. 

Effect on Dollywood

The warning was in place until nearly 11 p.m. Brandon Wasilewski, a meteorologist with the Weather Service in Morristown, estimated that three to five inches of rain fell over the Pigeon Forge area within a two-hour period on Sunday. The intense weather transformed the typical afternoon activities of food, music, and entertainment into a drenching experience. The park suffered significant damage due to the flooding, impacting its infrastructure and the safety of its visitors.

The severe weather had a substantial impact on Dollywood, causing damage to its facilities and posing risks to the visitors' safety.
