Alert Bystander's Heroic Efforts
The bystander spotted Dealmeida fleeing the bank's parking lot and immediately took action, running after her along Dorchester Ave. and onto Father Songin Way. Noticing a red smoke emitting from her hooded sweatshirt pocket, he successfully apprehended and restrained her, subsequently flagging down officers to assist in her arrest.
Police Appreciation
The Boston Police Department commended the bystander's bravery and swift actions, emphasizing the invaluable assistance provided in capturing the suspect.
Legal Proceedings and Charges
Following her apprehension, Dealmeida faces charges of unarmed bank robbery, with further anticipated charges related to a separate bank robbery earlier that day at 68 Kneeland St, East West Bank. She is expected to appear for arraignment at South Boston District Court, according to law enforcement authorities.
